ランニングウェア用途として、非常に高い機能性を持つ素材を使いながら、かつそのスポーツらしさをそぎ落とすような製品が作れないか、このような考えを出発点として、Arrowシリーズの開発にとりかかりました。
ハードなトレイルランニングや陸上競技の選手にも使ってもらえるような高い機能性を持ち、しかしながら既存の競技ウェアなどにはないカジュアルさも持つ、そんな製品に仕上がったと思っています。

素材面において、ランニングというアクティビティに対して大変高いレベルで各機能がバランスされた高機能素材を採用しています。
まず耐摩擦や引き裂きに対し非常に強い素材となっています。
トレイルランニングにおける、枝などとの接触に対しての強さ、また長時間ザックと接触し続ける摩擦に対しての強さに特長があります。
それでいて、硬すぎることなく、しなやかで軽やかな風合いを持ちます。
実重量も軽く、また吸水性、速乾性、UVカットなどのランニングウェアとしての基本性能も高いレベルで兼ね備えます。
更には接触冷感性を持ち、暑い時期のランニング、強度の高いランニング時にストレスを軽減します。

一方で、そのようなスーパーテクニカルな素材を使いながら、デザインワークによって、あえて見た目のテクニカルさを軽減しています。
中身はテクニカルだけど、一見それとはわからないようにする、この一要素がTANNUKIが作るレゾンデートルになると思っています。
ワンボタンのヘンリーネック仕様でカジュアルな雰囲気を醸します。
また化繊素材を組み合わせることで、杢調の風合いをだしています。

ハードなランニングシーンでも、逆にあえてランニングをしない日の日常着としてもコーディネートに組み入れていただけたらと思っています。

We began the development of the Arrow series with the idea of creating a product that incorporates materials of extremely high functionality for running wear, while at the same time removing the overtly “sporty” design elements. The result is a product that features superior functionality suitable even for demanding trail runners or track and field athletes, while also boasting a casual look that sets it apart from existing performance wear.

In terms of materials, we’ve adopted a highly functional fabric that provides a well-balanced combination of features at a very high level for the activity of running.
First, the material is extremely resistant to abrasion and tearing. It is especially notable for its durability when in contact with branches during trail running and its resistance to friction caused by prolonged backpack use. Despite its strength, it remains supple and lightweight, avoiding an overly stiff texture. The fabric is also physically light and offers excellent basic functionalities expected from running wear, such as water absorption, quick-drying performance, and UV protection. Additionally, the material features a cooling effect upon contact, which reduces stress while running in hot weather or during high-intensity activities.

While employing such super-technical materials, we have intentionally reduced the appearance of technicality through design. Though the fabric is highly functional, we aimed to make this less obvious at first glance. We believe this approach is an essential part of TANNUKI’s raison d’être. The single-button Henley neck design lends a casual feel, while the honeycomb-patterned synthetic material provides a distinct texture.

— Design Highlights
The upper part is designed as a simple Henley neck shirt, while the lower part incorporates a pocket with TANNUKI’s unique diagonal patterning. The simple design of the upper section ensures versatility, making it easy to style with other items. While the Henley neck with its button contributes to ventilation functionality, the addition of a focal point at the chest allows the shirt to look complete when worn on its own. Incidentally, the origin of the term "Henley neck" can be traced back to the Henley Regatta, a boat race held in the town of Henley on the upper reaches of the River Thames in London, where rowers originally wore shirts with this design.

A pocket is placed on the left hem. Following the design concept from the Sato series, the pocket is carefully integrated with an angled seam, providing a compact yet functional appearance. The gusseted design ensures that the items inside are less likely to fall out. Originally created with the purpose of holding gels during trail running, having a pocket on the top has proven to be convenient for various uses.

This sleeveless design is especially suited for summer and maximizes freedom of movement around the arms. It has a slightly tighter fit for enhanced performance.

The material achieves its high level of durability by incorporating Cordura fabric. Cordura is a material developed by INVISTA Corporation that strikes a balance between strength and lightness. It is said to be seven times stronger than regular nylon. The nylon threads from the Cordura brand have been blended with polyurethane yarn to further enhance stretchability, resulting in a fabric that offers a combination of high-level functionalities.
